EI Towers

EI Towers, with a portfolio of 2,500 broadcasting sites, stands as Italy’s leading independent tower company, highlighting its expertise in TV, radio, telecommunications, and Internet of Things (IoT) infrastructure management.

EI Towers initially supported the growth of television broadcasters during the “analog” era and continued to do so through the transition to digital, facilitating the development of network operators for both national and local TV. Today, EI Towers continues to play a pivotal role in the evolution of the digital terrestrial platform, offering a wide choice of services, including the provision of transmission capacity to local television broadcasters across the 13 technical areas where EI Towers holds local area frequency usage rights. The company manages 8 national DTT MUX in a full-service capacity and provides transmission capacity to over 200 local TV stations.

In a time where radio signals, whether in analog (FM) or digital (DAB) technology, meet an increasingly mobile audience, the need for widespread station distribution is critical. EI Towers, as a national tower operator, is uniquely positioned to ensure such coverage. The company offers a comprehensive range of services, from basic hosting and maintenance to a full service network management package.

Beyond its extensive network infrastructure, EI Towers engages in planning activities through the Broadcast Center and technical operations from the Master Control Rooms in Milan, Lissone, and Rome, which operate 365 days a year, managing audio and video contribution services within Italy and globally. In this contest, EI Towers supports Lega Serie A by facilitating the transmission of audio, video, and data signals both domestically and worldwide for the benefit of broadcasters and rights holders. The new Lega Serie A International Broadcast Centre (IBC), which includes the centralized VAR room, is situated within a 2,400-square-meter facility spread across two levels at the EI Towers headquarters in Lissone.

In 2015, EI Towers, through a pioneering choice, installed a cutting-edge and unique network infrastructure exclusively dedicated to IoT, managed by its subsidiary EIT Smart, and based on Sigfox’s Low Power Wide Area 0G technology. EIT Smart serves as a crucial technology partner for companies creating and launching innovative IoT solutions on both domestic and international markets.
